12 Angry Men

I am not going to lie this was a good movie, it really surprised me. I liked how each character was a different personality with different perspectives. I liked how juror #5 didn't jump the gun or coform to the rest of the group. I liked how he worked everything out and tried to play out every possible possibilty that was facing the boy. This helped the rest of the jurors understand where he was coming from and see the flaws giving them reasonable doubt about his guilt. The most effective tool I think he used was how he talked to each juror as a fellow peer in a calm, respectful manner instead of yelling at them, degrading them, or the manner taken by the other jurors. Overall I really enjoyed this movie.

Bryson out.

Mid-Term Analysis

I have really enjoy this class so far. We have had many good times and actually interesting assignments. In English 103, we have five key elements we are graded upon: Rhetoric & Critical Thinking, Information Design & Technology, Research, Collaboration, and Lab. Upon these key elements we are given are graded on our performance.
In Rhetoric & Critical Thinking, I think I have done a pretty good job thus far. In the debate, I opened up with the use of the Little Mermaid and the key points my side was going to try and argue. I tried throughout the debate to keep the points fresh and informative. The Community Based Writing was a fun one for me to do because I got to look into and think about a topic that affected me. We took on the student ticket distribution policy and I spent some time debating which way was more effective and fair to the students. It was really interesting hearing the two sides argue which way they thought was more effective. The only real problem I had with the Community Based Writing was I had so much information that I could not bring it all together into one concise, well written paper. I had all the information and ideas needed, just I failed to bring it all together and deliver it like I really wanted to.
In Information Design and Technology, I think I pretty much excelled in this department. The blogs are the essential piece of this puzzle and I had the blogs flowing like rain water. All of my blogs were completed on time and were full of my personal opinion and flavor. I excelled with the online blogs because they allowed me to add my own personal touch and really let the world know, hey what was I thinking. I enjoyed the varying topics we were able to discuss on the blogs and found it a nice change from what I usually do in English class. I know I am most likely of the minority, but I do enjoy the blogs because they allow me to express my feelings on things with my own personal touch.
In Research, I got all points necessary for this one. In my Community Based Writing I researched all that I could with my time on the subject. I conducted an interview of the Associated Executive Director of IPTAY and of a highly regarded member of Collegiate IPTAY. I had interviewed two other colleges to find out how they went about distributing tickets to their student bodies. From all of these I was able to compare what Clemson does to what other universities of similar size do.
In Collaboration, I worked really well with my community based writing group. I was able to achieve all goals that they had set for me and did my share of the work, if not more at times. I think this is another strong point of my achievements for this semester so far in English. I basically think that’s all I can think of for collaboration.
In Lab, I have had perfect attendance in that class. I have turned in all of my assignments on time and with hard work on them. I participate well in that class so I do all that I can to achieve a good grade in that class.
Overall, I think that I have done a good job in English class thus far in the year. I have had perfect attendance, I participate in class, turn in all assignments with maximum effort and on time. Therefore I believe I deserve an A in this class.
Mid-Term grade estimate: A
