technology
We have used technology in numerous ways for our group project. We have communicated with each other via email and have sent files to each other to review and to have for our portfolios. The electronic forum was useful for this project so that the ability to call on any part of the project that had been completed thus far was readily available. I feel our group was the most low tech in that we did not create an internet page or face book page but we were one of the most effective cost efficient groups with a plan that can be implemented almost immediately.

Ethical standards
The example we went over in class about the memo sent about the vans as transport of merchandise that turned out to be the Nazis transporting Jewish children was pretty shocking. I feel that a certain level of ethical behavior must always be maintained in order for you to have a safe and efficient work environment.

Job Miscommunication
At work a few weeks ago, we had a miscommunication occur between the waitresses and the cooks. We had four orders come back that were written for items that we did not serve. We asked the waitresses and we saw that the people had ordered the right thing they had just written it down wrong but by that time we had backed our orders up so we were all set back.

favorite presentation
My favorite presentation from last week was that of the best places to vacation at. I really liked it because it was cool to see different places and what they offered. My past experiences with online portfolios are from CU 101 my freshman year. We learned what we need to post into our E-portfolio and added three different pieces to it.

make up post for JAN 11
I think that the new use of the internet makes it very interesting for us now entering the job force. Incorporating new technologies,I.E. hypertext, shows how intricate technology is in applying for and searching for jobs.

3 presentations
My favorite three presentations were the worst 5 pick up lines, the new jersey one, and the best super bowl commercials. I liked the worst pick up lines one because it was straight and to the point but very entertaining. The new jersey one was very good because I learned alot about what New Jersey was really like. The one about the super bowl commercials was good because of the visual aids of being able to watch the commercials.

cover letter
I think that would be unprofessional to do that with your cover letter. I feel that you should not have anything handwritten on your cover letter. It should be done in the up most professional way because this is showing your potential employer how serious you are about applying for this job. If you do things like that it makes it look like you are trying to make some of it informal and that you are not that serious for this job.

Client Visit
I enjoyed listening to our client and her ideas during class last week. Right now I am still trying to really understand what exactly we are really going to do and less of what she is going to do overall with her program. I really enjoy my group I feel that it is a good mix of people.

Interview Mistakes
I do feel that these are all very valid mistakes of what to avoid for your interview. However, I feel that a really big one is that you dress appropriate for your interview. You should not show up to your interview wearing a t-shirt and jeans if you are interviewing for an office job. However, you should not show up wearing a shirt and tie for an interview to work as a cook at a restaurant. Another thing is you should not talk back to your interviewer, no matter how wrong they might be. They must be treated with the up most respect because remember they are the one in charge of hiring you. You need the job, not them.

Random Blog
So today we are supposed to blog about anything. I am going to talk about why I think that there should be a salary cap in Major League Baseball. Right now it has gotten ridiculous how that every off season it is the same teams that compete for the top free agents. (I.E. Yankees, Red Sox, Mets, Cubs, Dodgers and Angels) Unlike in the NFL, where there is a salary cap in place, there is no real parity in MLB. Yeah you have the random uprisings of teams with low salaries such as the 2003 Florida Marlins or the Tampa Bay Rays from last season, but all in all it is the same teams competing. I feel that with a salary cap: it would bring parity to baseball, help infuse fan interest back into the game, and make the main focus of front offices into developing and scouting talent and not who can sign the biggest check for the free agent all star. I know this is like arguing for a play off system in college football (I am a fan of the bowl system personally) but I feel that this is something that is going to have to be done if Major League Baseball is to establish itself as a major sport instead of falling further behind the NFL and NBA.

My life
Well for this blog I need to talk about what I would like to do with my life. My job I would like to have some job where I get to interact with people because I am a really good people person. I think that is a good area for me, one of my real strengths. Right now I am not too picky about my job though because with the economy the way it is, I should just be really happy to have a stable job with good pay. Down the road I would like to get married but I would have to be sure that she was the one. I think after college I am going to be more likely to get a dog than anything at first. I really want a Blue-Tick Coon Hound.

The last leg
Well since it is my last blog I thought I would wait till the last moment to post it just to keep you on the edge of your seat. My favorite thing we studied this year was the rhetoric lesson I thought that was pretty interesting. My least favorite was the art museum but then again i liked getting to do something different as well. The blog did in fact reflect technology as did the war rhetoric one as well. I liked going over the songs in class because it helped to bring a total understanding of the songs instead of them just being words and sounds. Well for one last time I would like to say...Bryson out

12 Angry Men
I am not going to lie this was a good movie, it really surprised me. I liked how each character was a different personality with different perspectives. I liked how juror #5 didn't jump the gun or coform to the rest of the group. I liked how he worked everything out and tried to play out every possible possibilty that was facing the boy. This helped the rest of the jurors understand where he was coming from and see the flaws giving them reasonable doubt about his guilt. The most effective tool I think he used was how he talked to each juror as a fellow peer in a calm, respectful manner instead of yelling at them, degrading them, or the manner taken by the other jurors. Overall I really enjoyed this movie.

Mid-Term Analysis
I have really enjoy this class so far. We have had many good times and actually interesting assignments. In English 103, we have five key elements we are graded upon: Rhetoric & Critical Thinking, Information Design & Technology, Research, Collaboration, and Lab. Upon these key elements we are given are graded on our performance.
In Rhetoric & Critical Thinking, I think I have done a pretty good job thus far. In the debate, I opened up with the use of the Little Mermaid and the key points my side was going to try and argue. I tried throughout the debate to keep the points fresh and informative. The Community Based Writing was a fun one for me to do because I got to look into and think about a topic that affected me. We took on the student ticket distribution policy and I spent some time debating which way was more effective and fair to the students. It was really interesting hearing the two sides argue which way they thought was more effective. The only real problem I had with the Community Based Writing was I had so much information that I could not bring it all together into one concise, well written paper. I had all the information and ideas needed, just I failed to bring it all together and deliver it like I really wanted to.
In Information Design and Technology, I think I pretty much excelled in this department. The blogs are the essential piece of this puzzle and I had the blogs flowing like rain water. All of my blogs were completed on time and were full of my personal opinion and flavor. I excelled with the online blogs because they allowed me to add my own personal touch and really let the world know, hey what was I thinking. I enjoyed the varying topics we were able to discuss on the blogs and found it a nice change from what I usually do in English class. I know I am most likely of the minority, but I do enjoy the blogs because they allow me to express my feelings on things with my own personal touch.
In Research, I got all points necessary for this one. In my Community Based Writing I researched all that I could with my time on the subject. I conducted an interview of the Associated Executive Director of IPTAY and of a highly regarded member of Collegiate IPTAY. I had interviewed two other colleges to find out how they went about distributing tickets to their student bodies. From all of these I was able to compare what Clemson does to what other universities of similar size do.
In Collaboration, I worked really well with my community based writing group. I was able to achieve all goals that they had set for me and did my share of the work, if not more at times. I think this is another strong point of my achievements for this semester so far in English. I basically think that’s all I can think of for collaboration.
In Lab, I have had perfect attendance in that class. I have turned in all of my assignments on time and with hard work on them. I participate well in that class so I do all that I can to achieve a good grade in that class.
Overall, I think that I have done a good job in English class thus far in the year. I have had perfect attendance, I participate in class, turn in all assignments with maximum effort and on time. Therefore I believe I deserve an A in this class.
Mid-Term grade estimate: A

Satire
Today we got to entertain ourselves with one of my personal favorites Family Guy and Robot Chicken. Robot Chicken was funny how it used clay-mation to poke fun at different things. I thought that the Smurfs one was the funniest because it reminded me so much of the original but had a nice adult spin on it. I really enjoyed Family Guy because they poke fun at everyone and it is just so random. I think that the use of MAD TV, Saturday Night Live, or The Simpsons would be a good use for future showings. Alright well Bryson out.

Debate Review
Overall I think the debate went pretty well. It was annoying at times when people would interupt someone before they were done making their point, ready to argue. Personally I was not too much into the topic being debated but like I have stated before I will keep an open mind and I did. I really thought that the lake side brought forward some good points and i thought my side had good points as well, just a tad bit too ready to argue. Overall it was a good experience, Bryson out.

Game Time
Well for this post I am supposed to play a game with someone and tell what game and who it is I want to play with. I think if I had to pick a game it would be baseball. If I was playing baseball I would want to play with Dontrelle Willis of the Florida Marlins or Nomar Garciaparra of the Los Angeles Dodgers. That would just be a swell time, ha I know you like that word ha, and those are just two of my favorite baseball players. Alright well until next time, Bryson out!

Commercial
Well i was watching the ole boob tube when I ran across one of those cheezy J.G. Wentworth commericals. All it was is an old man standing in front of a desk talking about trust and determination. It was like a home made commercial and really made him appear like an ambulance chaser. After watching that I feel that he is one of those type lawyers that will take any case to make any money no matter what it is. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would give it a 2.5. Bryson out.
